If you've been in Ithaca a while, chances are you've tasted something baked by Chef Leslie Muhlhahn, owner of Just Desserts and the Queen of Tarts. Leslie earned an A.O.S. degree in 1993 from the New England Culinary Institute in Montpelier, Vermont, and upon returning to Ithaca in 1995, opened the Just Desserts Bakery. She has two children, and lives in beautiful downtown Ithaca.

She has had the privilege of further studying with Jacquy Pfeiffer, founder of the French Pastry School in Chicago, and Ewald Notter, founder of the International School of the Confectionary Arts, in Orlando.

Leslie's demand for perfection means her work is in high demand for wedding cakes and for other events. In 2003, Share Our Strength named Leslie "Chef of the Year" in their small markets category. She's been featured in the Ithaca Times and the Ithaca Journal, and appeared in The Perfect Wedding Cake by Kate Manchester.

Just wanted to thank you for all your help with my wedding on Sep 9 at the Stater. The cake came out even more beautiful than I could have imagined, and it was so delicious! The bows and swiss dots looked perfect in the cake. Hopefully when the pictures come out there will be one of the cake.
